Although she already had a dozen film credits and a role on the TV's Central Park West to her credit, Peet gained wider visibility for her starring role as Jacqueline 'Jack' Barrett in the television series Jack & Jill, which premiered in 1999. Since then she has focused on building her movie career. Her subsequent film credits include Isn't She Great, The Whole Nine Yards, Whipped, Saving Silverman, Changing Lanes, Igby Goes Down, Identity, Something's Gotta Give and The Whole Ten Yards. Peet is also featured in the upcoming Woody Allen feature, Melinda and Melinda, scheduled for U.S. release on March 18, 2005.
Barefoot in the Park follows the lives of newlyweds Paul and Corie Bratter as they try to adjust to life in a tiny walk-up apartment in Greenwich Village. He is a conservative lawyer who wants to keep a low profile, and she is a free-spirit who is trying to spice up life. Throughout the course of the play, they pull apart and grow together. Patrick Wilson is likely for the role of Paul Bratter, but no talks are currently taking place between the actor and production.
Barefoot in the Park, directed by Scott Elliot, is currently aiming for a spring Broadway bow.
